Invensys services to sail offshore

A new offshore operations center has been established by Invensys Process Systems at the Ciudad del Carmen in the Gulf of Mexico. Invensys has taken the initiative to operate a Center of Excellence for upstream oil and gas in Mexico to help its customer, Petroleos Mexicanos (PEMEX), improve asset utilization and availability in its facilities there. The center is well equipped with all necessary resources for Invensys to support PEMEX in the northeast and southeast regions. Resources to maintain all the applications, system logistic management platforms, plant materials and emergency stock are present in support resources of the center. Risk analysis services for the system configuration & standardization and system operation are also included. The short-term objective of this strategy is to support a multi-year contract that provides preventive and corrective maintenance for more than 70 safety systems. The center will also support a recent project through which Invensys will automate eight PEMEX offshore platforms in Ku-Maloob-Zaap oilfield, using an I/A Series process control system and Foundation Fieldbus technology and services.
