As a part of its customer awareness campaign, Testo demonstrated the benefits of using thermal imagers. They are being used by all major industries throughout the world to help solve maintenance problems, improve safe working conditions, control manufacturing and main-tenance costs. Advantages of thermography in preventive maintenance include it being a non contact and non destructive method. It finds applications in various areas like electrical, mechanical, R&D, quality analysis, etc, and is also useful for energy, cement, power and steel sector. Talking about the newly launched thermal imager, Stefan Denzler, Managing Director, Testo India, said, “thermal imager is used in preventive maintenance to ensure safety, availability and reliability of the plant. It reduces repair costs and helps improve personal safety of the staff.” Thermal imagers are available in three versions as testo 880-1, 880-2, and 880-3, accompanied by accessories like sun-shield, adhesive emissivity tape, aluminium-tripod, exchangeable telephoto lens, lens protection glass, and fast charging station.
