Contactron 4-in-1, the semiconductor reversing contactor designed for flexible use, combines and standardises functions in machine and plant construction. The protective circuit integrated as standard prevents contact-breaking sparking and interference voltages, so adjacent electronic devices in the control cabinet are not subject to any additional EMC interference. Additionally, the low switch-on current means that it can be directly controlled from a PLC output card. The contactor combines counter-clockwise motor rotation, clockwise motor rotation, motor protection relays and also an integrated safety function in an enclosure of 22.5 mm. Three-phase loads can be safely shut down in compliance with DIN EN ISO 13849-1 when controlled via a safe output without requiring any additional components, using a microprocessor control that helps to minimise wiring costs. While up to 70 terminal points must be connected for a classic installation, for a reversing contactor circuit with Contactron, this is reduced to maximum 18.
