With immediate effect, the barcode reader PScan-D from Pepperl+Fuchs in addition to Zone 1 is also available for Zone 21 (ATEX). The barcode reader is suitable for all commonly used 1D bar codes and is designed for the use under rough conditions. The robust design with recessed display and protected scanner window guarantees that the device will function even after a fall from a height of two metres. The maximum reading distance of 1,100 metres meets the customer requirements for capturing operating data or logistic purposes in industrial environments. Due to patented puzzle solve technology; the damaged or dirty barcodes can be identified. The newly designed aiming function allows precision scanning of bar-codes positioned close together at the maximum reading distance. The barcode reader does this by projecting a point of light onto the code it is about to read. The read command is then issued. If the code is read successfully, it is confirmed by two more LEDs located on the top and the rear of the cover.
