That is exactly what Automotive Engineering Show 2012, the 5th international exhibition on technologies for automotive manufacturing aims to do. To be held on 27 April 2012 at the Auto Cluster Exhibition Centre, Pune, the show is an effort to recognise how automotive middle-level management equivalent of plant managers and general managers created excellence through innovation in their plants. Keeping with the overall theme of ‘Manufacturing Excellence’, on Day-2, the Excellence Awards for Innovation & Creative Automation aims to celebrate the achievements and experience of plant managers using automation creatively in their manufacturing processes. This event will provide a forum where seasoned automotive specialists can engage in an exchange of ideas with each other; and grab a knowledge sharing opportunity. Managers across the automotive manufacturing spectrum will present their experiences in quality, safety, energy efficiency, environment protection, productivity, value improvement, etc, and illustrate with examples how they creatively used automation in true-life situations or overcame some specific challenges with technical creativity thereby enhancing plant performance and efficiency. The cases will be reviewed and judged by eminent jury members of the likes of Mukund V Mavalankar, Director Technical, Bharat Forge Ltd; Dilip Sawhney, Regional Director, Rockwell Automation India Pvt Ltd & Executive Council Member, Automation Industry Association; Sandeep Balooja, Group President Business Development, Anand Group & Chairman, ACMA - Western Region; Prof Sudhir Agashe, Head - Dept of Instrumentation & Control, College of Engineering, Pune. About 100 attendees from the region’s major user groups - OEM, Tier I vendors, system integrators, and machine builders will be there, making it a great place for networking, sharing ideas, celebrating success, building relationships and learning about developing initiatives. The program’s collaborative nature enables participants to also learn from one another. It aims to create a motivating environment and build credibility and profile. The function would be held between 3.00-5.00 pm and it guarantees that the attendees will return back inspired with new ideas for optimising their plant operations and upgrading their equipment.
